Minis for Miles
Miniskirts have been all over my Instagram feed since the spring and I’ve been ignoring the trend, wishing it would go away. Now, after months of physical therapy (and about 1000 squats), it feels like my newly toned legs are finally ready to pull off the trend.

Here’s how I plan to style it while the weather is still mild:
White blouse: Frank & Eileen Relaxed Featherweight Shirt (Made in USA and comes in loads of colors including this fabulous wine color)
Chunky loafer: This black patent pair or bottle green velvet, from Stuart Weitzman would work well (Made in Spain)
Fun socks: From Missoni (Made in Italy) or, to dress it up a bit, these wonderful laminated metallic lovelies from Maria La Rosa (also Made in Italy)
Chocker necklace: from Justin Clenquet (Made in France)
Black Mini shown above: Reformation Flounce Skirt
I took the plunge with this deeply discounted Theory leather number but I’m also eying other A-line styles like this ($98 from Reformation) or this (Max Mara) as well as this slightly longer, pleated one from Susana Monaco (bonus: it’s $108 and made in the USA).

Since the Queen’s passing, I’ve been thrown into a state of acute nostalgia for my formative years in the UK. My sweet little grade school stood in the shadows of Windsor Castle, close enough to see the Union Jack flying – the tell-tale sign that the Queen was in residence. Suffice to say, I’ve devoured every article there is to read about the Queen and her remarkable life. Two stood out because they nail down exactly what made her so special – “Queen Elizabeth’s Old School Virtues,” by Peggy Noonan and “What is a Monarch?,” by Faith Moore – beautifully articulate the principles that guided her life. It doesn’t hurt that she loved dogs.
